We are Ana and Lina, two Colombian sisters behind Artemisa Natural. Growing up, we watched our grandmother care for her skin through simple, natural rituals. Her approach to beauty was never complicated — it was about consistency, taking time for yourself, and making the most of what nature had to offer.Years later, while living in the UK, those memories became part of the inspiration behind Artemisa.

From our kitchen... and rice was always part of the story

Artemisa started in our kitchen, not a lab.

During a time when life slowed down, we found ourselves returning to something we had always loved: creating, learning and caring for our skin naturally. We began studying natural cosmetic formulation and experimenting with botanical ingredients, making our first formulas one small batch at a time.

What began as curiosity soon became something much bigger.

Rice was always part of the story. Growing up, we remember our grandmother using rice water as part of her beauty rituals, both for her skin and her hair — a simple tradition that stayed with us.

Years later, as we began studying natural cosmetic formulation and exploring ingredients more deeply, we rediscovered rice through a new lens. We became fascinated by its versatility and the different ways it could be used in skincare — from rice oil and extract to fermented rice.

That connection between something we grew up with and what we were learning as formulators felt naturally aligned with Artemisa.

Today, rice and its derivatives sit at the heart of our formulas, paired with carefully selected botanical ingredients to support healthy, hydrated and radiant-looking skin.

After years of learning, formulating and refining our vision, we took one of our biggest steps yet: bringing our formulas into a professional laboratory in Spain.
